Hey guys! I'm a big lover of shoes, and want to get more that match my dresses, but the shipping costs kill me! Where in toronto (other then twylite in kensington... the prices there are a bit outrageous) do you go shoe shopping for lolita?

I hope you find the shoes you're looking for in Toronto (I have a lot of trouble finding any shoes/boots that are of the Victorian/Steampunk style, so I sympathise)! You could check the Naturalizer clearance outlet in Mississauga - I got a pair of last-season granny boots there for half price, and they have some nice Maryjane style shoes sometimes.

I'm so glad you're eschewing TwyLite, BTW. Besides charging too much for cheaply-made K-Star dresses, the owner of TwyLite turns out to be horribly homophobic! My goth friend Emmie (who sometimes comes to Lolita meetups) went there one time and told the owner she was looking for a funky outfit to wear to a drag queen event, and the owner started railing about how 'sick' gay people are and how much she hates them!! O_o It's incredible that an owner of an alternative clothing shop in Kensington Market would be such a bigot. I'm telling as many people as possible so they know the truth about this woman. :( Best for everyone to stay away and not give her your hard-earned cash...
